clitic

A form of an article, pronoun, or other function word that attaches to a baseform, or stem. A postclitic is a clitic that attaches to the end of the baseform, such -moi in the French phrase donnez-moi. A preclitic is a clitic that attaches to the beginning of the baseform, such as L in the French word L'enfant.
