Guide to the Research Collections
Rumanian literature is well represented. Since 1960 general order arrangements have enabled the library to obtain most of the current literary publications. The library does not collect Rumanian literature in the Cyrillic alphabet; resources instead are concentrated on works in the Roman alphabet from the late nineteenth century to the present, and are strongest for materials published after 1930.
Of the more than 600 titles 330 are fiction, 170 are poetry, and 120 are drama. These figures include a number of translations; in drama are translations both of Rumanian plays into other languages and foreign plays into Rumanian.
Publications of learned societies and institutions include the Academia Româna's Din vieata popurului Roman
and its successor Anuarul arhivei de folklore,
an incomplete file of the Viata Romîneasc&acaron;,
and Langue et littérature.
